U4GM What to Farm in Cold Snap 170 Guide

Patch 1.7.0 has me playing ARC Raiders like I've got a stopwatch and a death wish at the same time. The Rust Belt isn't "winter themed" now, it's hostile, and you feel it the first time a whiteout rolls in and your minimap instincts stop helping. If you're already thinking about gearing up and keeping your stash healthy, ARC Raiders Coins are the kind of thing people bring up for a reason, because the patch pushes you to spend smarter and faster just to stay in the fight.

Cold Snap Changes How You Move
The blizzards aren't just mood lighting. Visibility can drop so hard you'll lose a teammate at ten meters, and that's when the frostbite timer starts feeling personal. You can't do the old "sprint across open ground and pray" routine anymore. You end up routing through warehouses, stairwells, busted tunnels—anything with a roof—then pausing by a fire like it's the last safe thing on earth. And the ice? It's slippery in a way that messes with your muscle memory. You'll line up a clean exit, tap strafe, and suddenly you're sliding past cover into a Shredder's lap, wondering why your legs won't listen.

Loot Feels Like It Finally Matches the Risk
What surprised me most is how the economy mood changed overnight. Blueprint drops feel way less stingy, especially around spots like Stella Montis where you're already taking fights you can't fully control. You'll have raids where the backpack is stuffed with rare plans, and that does something to your decision-making. People extract more often because the bag's worth it, but they also push harder because they know everyone else is carrying value too. It creates these tense little standoffs—nobody wants to be the one caught outside when the storm hits, yet nobody wants to leave the good rooms unchecked.

Small QOL Stuff That Actually Matters
The reset option for the skill tree is huge. Yeah, paying per point hurts, but it beats rerolling your whole life because you picked a perk that sounded good at 2 a.m. The ADS toggle is another one of those "why wasn't this here?" fixes, and louder footsteps change the vibe in fights. You'll hear someone trying to creep, then spot the fresh footprints in the snow and realize you're basically tracking them like it's a hunting game. That's when squads start moving slower, talking more, and setting traps instead of just charging every ping.

The Event Grind Doesn't Feel Like Punishment
"Flickering Flames" has a nice rhythm to it: you grab candleberries and heat sources while doing normal raids, toss them into the community effort, and the rewards show up without you living on a checklist. I'm also waiting for the Goalie Raider Deck, because hockey-gladiator armor and a customizable stick as a melee weapon is exactly the kind of dumb-in-a-good-way flex this game needs. And if you're getting slammed by storms, losing kits, or just trying to shortcut your rebuild, a lot of players end up looking at ARC Raiders Coins cheap as a practical way to get back to running real loadouts instead of limping through the snow with scraps.
