Itse olen nyt muutaman kuukauden käynyt psykoterapiassa masennuksen ja traumaattisen menneisyyden takia. Terapeuttini on todella hyvä työssään ja ymmärtää introverttiyttäni todella hyvin. En edes itse nostanut sitä puheeksi, vaan hän kysyi, että onko mahdollista että olen introvertti.
Hänen kanssaan ollaan paljon käsitelty aihetta ja erityisesti etsitty keinoja miten selviäisin arjesta kaikista helpoiten tämän ominaisuuden kanssa. Sitä arvostan terapeutissani, hän ei yritä "korjata" minua, jos asiassa ei ole mitään korjattavaa.

Psykoterapia on kyllä ollut hämmentävä kokemus. Ensimmäistä kertaa koen, että joku ymmärtää. Olen INFP-persoona, eli ymmärretyksi tuleminen on usein vaikeaa. Käyn terapiassa kaksi kertaa vikossa, enkä ole kokenut kuormittavana. En edes koe terapeuttia ihmisenä, joka kuluttaa voimavarojani, sillä hänen edessään minun ei tarvitse väkisin "sopeutua" ekstroverttien maailmaan vaan saan olla ihan täysin oma itseni, joka on myös täysin uusi kokemus minulle.
